I have the same issue, and have contacted the cellular provider who confirmed it is not provider related. It has only occurred since I updated the iOS. All attempts to turn on and off airplane mode, cellular data, reset network, remove and replace simcard, etc. have not worked. I would appreciate any other ideas. Everything else works as normal.
Okay, if you still can't connect to a cellular network, and have confirmed with your carrier that there isn't an issue with your account or network, try restoring your device.
