I have no apple device to do the two step verification and use icloud for calendar to sync to my android device. Now i need an app specific password to do this... what now?

You can turn on two-step verification for your Apple ID without an Apple device by logging in to https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=signin from any computer and set it up to sent the SMS code to your Android phone. See the following from Two-step verification for Apple ID - Apple Support

Two-step verification is an older security method that is available to users who don’t have Apple devices, can’t update their devices, or are otherwise ineligible for two-factor authentication.
