Whatsapp overwritten backup - recover chat history
Today I opened my WhatsApp and a message showed saying "WhatsApp seems to be having trouble reading your chat history and will try to recover it. This can take several minutes." So I waited, did not exit the app or turn my phone off while I waited for it to complete, like it said, and then when it finally stopped after 10 minutes, my WhatsApp opened and all my chats were there but empty. I tried to restore the iCloud backup, but it did a backup just as WhatsApp reopened so basically it saved all the empty chats over my most recent backup that was around 400 mb. Thus, when I tried to restore it via the iCloud backup, it restored nothing since my old backup was overwritten. Is there no way to recover my messages? To restore my old backup? I have no idea where this problem came from and I'm really bummed out, I had really important stuff on there.
