cannot remove downloaded TV episode

That option might be missing if content is hidden from your purchase history. See Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support. After unhiding purchases close iTunes and reopen.

Try signing out of the store and then sign in again, unless you have Apple Music as that will probably remove any downloaded AM content. Signing out and in again makes iTunes check on the relationships between your library content and purchase history.

I have this problem with some TV episodes, too, but they are not hidden from my purchases, I just checked.

It's weird, but for these few episodes, there is no "Remove Download" menu option.

I take it that the episode is downloaded and not in the cloud already? 😕

Yes, it is downloaded. That's why I'm looking for the "Remove Download" menu option.

There is a "Show in Finder" which shows me the file on disk.

I tried but that made no difference. I ended up deleting the file, into the trash, and then I see that the movie is available again to download. Some iTunes bug/glitch.

iTunes, the puzzle that keeps on giving. 😝
