macOS system taking up 100GB of storage!

If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know. I have had to delete heaps of files and apps so my computer has even a little amount of storage.User uploaded file

Have you tried the Manage option shown in your screenshot?

Also, in Disk Utility, how much free space is shown for your Macintosh HD? Does it match the About This Mac figure?

In that case it's probably not just the Spotlight problem. Have you seen these threads in your searches? There are a lot of solutions offered but nothing that really stands out.

System Storage Taking Up Way Too Much Space in macOS Sierra

When did your problem begin? Restoring your OS from a Time Machine backup might work. You do that from Recovery mode. Also in Recovery mode, use Disk Utility to run First Aid on your startup disk.
