I have an Samsung S4 (android) smartphone and I also have an apple email account which I'm trying to use on my phone. I seem to be having the same problem. Over the past month or so I haven't been able to send emails from my Samsung S4. It tells me that the authentication has failed. But the my Apple ID and password is correct. So then I find out about this NEW two step process that I need to set up on my phone. So I LOGIN to my account from my Mac desktop computer and begin to have problems with getting the app-specific password that I need to be able to properly set up my phone to access my Apple account.
The 2-step verification process to create an app-specific password is sooooo buggy!!! I tried it earlier today and I seem to get to the point in the process where I would be sent an app-specific password. I was supposed to receive a text message but it took forever to send it. So there was option link to hit in case I didn't receive a 4 digit code so I clicked it again and again. Then all at once I received 7 different text messages each with different 4 digit codes. I tried each one of them but none them worked. It eventually told me that I entered the wrong number too many times and had to try again later. LATER??? How much later? Ever since then I never got to that step of the process again. And it's been 4 hours since I first attempted the whole 2-step verification process.
Just to see if it was a browser issue I tried it first on Chrome, then tried it on Firefox, and lastly Safari. No difference!!! Can anyone help with this? And suggestions?
