Hello! I have recently blocked someone, but texted them a few times and it has shown as undelivered.
Can you text a person you have blocked? If you can then why are my texts to them showing as undelivered?
If you unblock somebody will they receive the texts you have sent them?
Blocking someone affects texts sent to you. It does not affect texts that you send to them.
I don't have "send as SMS" turned on, is that the reason they are not going through?
Also- if a blocked person(person a) texts you(person b) it will show on person a's phone that the message was delivered correct?
Maybe that person has also blocked you.
Thank you!! Your answer seems to be the correct one- if SMS isn't turned on so can't contact a blocked caller.
If you send iMessage, it has to "go" to an iPhone.
If it's not an iPhone, or if it was an iPhone but either turned off or out of reception range, the iPhone can try to deliver it again as an SMS, but this feature needs to be enabled for that:
Settings → Messages → Send as SMS = ON
So after a certain timeout period, it will be resent as a green SMS (not as a blue iMessage)
That's what I would have assumed as well- but it's showing that my texts were never delivered.
Do you know why Apple would show them as undelivered even if they were blocked?
They are blue (imessages) texts. We both have iPhones but when that individual is blocked my phone is displaying that the text never delievers.
Which is odd and why I asked the community.
iPhone has no way of knowing if text messages (Green SMS) were delivered or not.
It can only know if an iMessage (Blue) was delivered or not.

do you have " Send as SMS" turned on?
you can tap the message that failed to deliver then select "resend as SMS"
