Purple tint on images in Photos

Hi all,

Please help me out with this. You can see the image attached. A lot of the photos I imported into the Mac Photos app are showing up in purple. These are all Fujifilm uncompressed files.

They worked fine in Adobe Lightroom, but when imported into Photos, they all show up in purple. Subsequently, they all show up purple on my icloud, on my phone, on my ipad. Any idea?

Which version of macOS are you using? And which camera exactly? The RAW development is specific for each camera model, not only the brand.

After the Sierra 10.12.4 update some camera models had this problem with the most recent RAW support, making the developed RAW files turn pink.

We have seen similar reports for the Canon EOS M5 by several users, see this link: Canon M5 RAW pictures have a pink hue on 10.12.4

The Canon EOS M5 with the same "pink hue" problem as your Fuji camera has been released with macOS 10.12.2 (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7796659?answerId=31143011022#31143011022), when the support for the Fujifilm X-T2 came to. Is that your camera?

It may be a bug, that might be fixed in a future system update. Lightroom uses Adobe RAW, and since this is working well for your camera model, I'd use Lightroom for the time being to process your RAW files.

And send a bug report to Apple about the RAW problem: https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html

Yeah I imported the original photos directly from the folder where I store them all in. And I tick the box to have Photos store a copy in the library also. I can see all my photos were copied into the Master folder within the Photos package.

I can understand that Photos doesn't support the Lossless compressed format by Fujifilm, but I just don't know why they are all purple for the uncompressed files.

A bit of an update. I downloaded Picktorial to try open these affect files. They all work fine.

So, I created another Photos Library just to try importing these files again.

What happened is surprising, which I didn't notice before.

So, I drag&drop the DNG file from the Finder into Photos. The photo appears absolutely fine, as it should. However, after about 10 seconds, it changed and became purple again. I tried this with a few other photos and it happened.

I still need help.
