one-way synch with Outlook app

Using only my iPhone, I've set up mail/calendar synching with iCloud. I then installed the Microsoft Outlook app and connected to the iCloud account, using the app password. If I add a new calendar item via Outlook app, it will appear automatically on my icloud.com account and iPhone calendar within a second.

If I edit that calendar item, or even add a new calendar item on my iPhone or my icloud.com account, it will not synch back to the Outlook app.

I've updated my iOS and the Outlook app to the latest version, recreated all accounts, with no success. I have a ticket open with MS but they don't seem to have any idea. To summarize:

Outlook app > iPhone/iCloud = ok

iPhone/iCloud > Outlook app = nothing

Anybody have any ideas? I am not using anything other than my iPhone, no Mac or PC.

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 10.3.2, Outlook for iOS: 2.31.0

For anyone else that finds this thread, just follow this portion. I opened a ticket with Microsoft and they said that the Outlook app doesn't support calendar and contact synchronization with iCloud.

Try going to iCloud.com using a computer to see if the items are there and which app they are from. That should show which app isn't syncing. On the one not syncing, try turning syncing off, then on.

How do you see what app they are from? Here is my full testing regiment. I think that it covers everything.

1. Added calendar item (test1) on iPhone calendar app. It appeared on icloud.com calendar immediately.

2. Added calendar item (test2) on iPhone Outlook app. It appeared on icloud.com calendar immediately.

Results:

Test1 and Test2 both appeared on iPhone calendar and icloud.com calendar.

Only test2 appeared on iPhone Outlook app.

3. On iPhone settings > Calendar > Accounts > iCloud. Turned off calendar, deleted from iPhone, Turned back on. Retested with same results.

4. On Outlook app. Settings > iCloud account (in the list of accounts) > Reset account. Retested with same results.

5. On Outlook app. Settings > iCloud account (in the list of accounts) > Delete account. Recreated account and created a new app-specific password to connect. Successfully see all current information that was contained on iCloud calendar. Any further adds/edits result in the same behavior.

Based on what you posted, the problem appears to be the Outlook app.
