I have ordered a MacBook Pro 13" (Oct 2016) and a USB-C to USB adapter. Looks like I will be able to use the adapter to sycn and up date my wife's iPhone 5, but not my iPhone 4s. Is there a way/adapter to connect the 4s?

yup,. there should be...if memory serves me, the iPhone 4s still uses the old 30-pin socket, vs the newer Lightning one. the older 30-pin to usb cable should still be available, but not necessarily from Apple.

In theory it should work,armandoWyo,but I've never had a chance to try it out myself.i've seen cheap 30 pin adapters at places like 7-11,maybe around$5.so maybe give it a shot.worst case-you're out $5 or so- best case-it works just fine...
