Apple CarPlay on 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback EX
Greetings everyone,
This post is for 10th Generation Honda Civics and for people who might have a problem connecting their iPhone to the car using Apple CarPlay.
I bought my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback EX about a month ago (5/10/2017). Apple CarPlay wasn't working when I got the car and was a bit worried if it was my car that had a software defect or that it was just my iPhone SE. Turns out it was NOT a software problem. It was that my phone settings was restricted to "off" in my phone settings. For some people, their restrictions in "General" settings might be limited to certain applications.
If you've tried every possible way to get Apply CarPlay working for your Civic, these steps might relieve your CarPlay problem:
General --> Restrictions --> (enter your password if you have it set) --> Enable CarPlay
After doing this, your Civic should automatically connect to your iPhone. If it connects, hallelujah! If not, try something else!
