Font Setup for Mail App on MacBook Air

Hello Community,

How do I setup my desired font in mail app as default? So I don't have to choose one every time I reply or forward my emails.

I want to setup a default font for my outgoing emails.

Is there any possibility in Mail App?

Thank you.

Hi,

I can see the Font type can be set to the Font you want as in this pic with Arial Black

User uploaded file

The actual Quoted text for inclusion in the reply is the purple previous selected by default and I have no doubt this bit can be the blue you want.

The issue seem to be any text you add as in my:-

"Hi,

Text of font setting"

There used to be an Apple Script the altered the font and colour for every character and I though it was called the Happy Birthday script but I can't find it.

This could be used to change the outgoing font colour (with a bit of tweaking to the script so it does not do every letter).

Hi,

It is called Crazy Message text and in OS X 10.8.5 it is in

/Library/Scripts/Mail Scripts

By OS X 10.11.5 this folder is not longer there and the various scripts seem to have gone.

Copy of Script.

tell crazyTextMessage

set size of eachCharacter to (random number from lowFontSize to highFontSize)

set color of eachCharacter to {random number from 0 to 65535, random number from 0 to 65535, random number from 0 to 65535}

end repeat

end tell

end tell

Obviously you would need to change the Font size and delete the randomness of the Font size and remove all the choices of the font your system may list to be the one you want.

Copy and Rename the Script and work on the copy.

User uploaded file for the User uploaded file Points.

However it was the same thing Eric has originally posted and then added his own picture.

I only posted a pic with the actual message showing to prove it was the place.

Thank you @Eric Root & Tygb for your prompt response.

I've gone through the article for font. Unfortunately, I didn't find the specific instruction of what I am looking for. It seems the Apple mail app doesn't have the option of setting a default font for reply and forward messages. It appears that we have to set the desired font at the time of replying and forwarding a message. A big 👎.

Apple mail app is way behind outlook mail.

These settings for Message list view, message font in your mail boxes. But I want to set Arial Font size 10 with blue colour as default whenever I am replying or forwarding an email. I don't want to set my font each and every time when I am sending a email.

this is not possible in the font setting of the mail app. But possible with outlook mail under stationary settings.
