Advice - How many cores for Logic?
I plan to purchase the new iMac Pro when it becomes available (who knows how long we'll have to wait for the Mac Pro... đ - I can't wait any longer, even though they've said they're working on it - I'm guessing we won't see it on the shelves until 2019, but this new iMac Pro seems pretty beastly). I'll be maxing out the RAM and Storage, but I have no clue how many cores is optimal in use with Logic. I score to video using lots and lots of sampler plugins and synths, recording real instruments and voices in with it all, convolution reverbs, etc, etc etc... It can get pretty taxing on the CPU with everything going on and tracks upon tracks upon tracks.
A lot of you are far more knowledgeable than me in this area. I've read somewhere there is a limit to how many cores Logic can utilize... I've read too many cores actually makes it perform worse... I've read the more the merrier... all on different outdated threads.
Could you please advise on how many cores is best for Logic? I'd rather not go all out for the 18 if the 8 would perform best for my purposes.
