2-step verification: Windows 10 Live Mail

I cannot find the location in the Security Section of my iCloud account settings to set up 2-step verification. Only 2-factor. I need 2-step to get my email on my PC working properly again.

In order to turn on two-factor authentication you need to have at least 1 Apple product running iOS 9 or higher or OS X El Capitan or higher. If you have that and you are seeing two-factor authentication on your Apple ID page, that is the only choice you have. Once you have turned on two-factor authentication you obtain an app-specific password as discussed in Using app-specific passwords - Apple Support and that app-specific password will work for accessing iCloud email from an app on your PC. For accessing iCloud services from non-Apple apps, it doesn't matter whether your Apple ID is protected by two-step verification or two-factor authentication -- you just need an app-specific password from either.
