Phishing email using appleid@id.apple.com
Hi all,
Couldn't find a proper home for this question since it's not related using the technology.
The past week I've been receiving constant spam from Apple Distribution International--a company that has been masking as Apple Inc. I've reported these emails to Apple and I have called Apple support to ensure that my account is secure.
The emails claim that I have created a new account and need to verify my email address. The email uses the wrong name and sounds very made up. However, my problem is that these emails have been using the same email address as legitimate emails from Apple ID appleid@id.apple.com. The reply address is appleid_frfr@email.apple.com, whereas legitimate Apple ID emails will use a donotreply address. So unfortunately, whenever I mark these fake emails as phishing emails or spam, Gmail will send legitimate Apple ID emails to spam as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to resolve this issue? Apple definitely needs to find a way to stop these phishing emails because they look incredibly legitimate aside from the fake name and fake mailing address.
