Wordpress and iPad Pro

I just got a 12.9 iPad Pro, which I love! But I use Wordpress many times a day in my work. It looks like I can use my iPad Pro for almost everything I do at work, except I'm having a problem with Wordpress. Most of the time when I touch the screen to highlight a phrase or paragraph to move or delete, it won't stay highlighted. Instead, I waste a tremendous amount of time using the delete key, one character at a time. I tried using the keyboard shift and arrows to define a sentence or paragraph but that sends Wordpress straight to the bottom of the page. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to fix it? Thank you.
