macbook pro only works with bluetooth keyboard and mouse

I have a MacBook Pro, early 2015 vintage running MacOS Sierra 10.12.05 and until this week I have had no problems then a few days ago the mouse froze during a session and and upon restart the keyboard and mouse have stopped working and the OS is looking for an external Blue Tooth Keyboard and mouse, which I can then connect with. Fortunately I have a Mini Mac and can borrow or use the KB and mouse from it but that is not a long term fix.

How can I get the laptop Keyboard and mouse to reconnect with the OS and the laptop?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

I don't know if it may help you, but I had a bluetooth problem as well for my keyboard and magic trackpad after the installation of the new MAC OS Sierra yesterday. After many trials with tech support etc... I called the Apple Center (Canada) and I think I talked to God 🙂 because she fixed it! wow! here is the solution:

1. Shut down your MAC.

2. Press silmutanuously shift, ctrl, alt, power button for about 10 seconds.

3. Release all (take off your fingers from the keyboard :-) )

4. Press the power button only to boot your MAC.

5. Go to system preference - BlueTooth, if your bluetooth devices are ON you should see them as connected.

That's all! We are not the only ones getting this problem with the new OS, engineers are working on this issue apparently.... Hope that helps... :-)
