transferring iMovie projects from one mac to another mac.

trying to figure out how to finish an iMovie project from the 1st mac onto the 2nd mac. I know in IOS iMovie, you can upload projects to the iCloud but there don't seem to be the same functionality for the mac? How can I transfer my unfinished projects between the 2 macs? I can't airdrop because my router doesn't support Airdrop. Reason I ask is that I ran out of space on the 1st mac so need to finish it on my 2nd mac which has loads of space left. I thought apple was of the mindset that your data can be across all devices, ie. messages etc. I was expecting to see my iMovie project on my 1st mac to show up automatically on my 2nd mac.

If both computers are on the same network and have the same iMovie version, this is pretty easy. On the first computer select the project and in file menu choose consolidate project media. This will ensure that all the media used in the project is in the project. Then click on the projects tab and create a new library. Then select the project and click on the circle and in the dropdown menu choose move the project. Select the new library you created. The project is now in the new library. In the finder side bar open your movies window on both computers and drag the library to the second computers movies window. Now open iMovie on the second computer and open the library. Once you confirm the project is there and working properly you can delete it from the first computer.

Hi,

To transfer or copy a project from Mac #1 to Mac #2 you must create a new library on an external drive (formatted Mac OS Extended, journaled) that is connected to Mac #1, and then copy your project into the new library. You then plug the external drive, usually a USB thumb drive, into Mac #2, where the library and the project in it can be accessed. Mac #2 must have the exact same version and iteration of iMovie as the one in which the project was created.

Here's a link that will explain how to work with multiple libraries:
