You can download Skype version for IOS 10.7.5 because what I have on my mac does not make video calls

Just looked this up last night for my Mother In Law and you currently need 10.9 or better. But I was surprised to find that I can update Mom's 2008 Macbook (White plastic) all the way to Sierra. It has 8 GB of RAM which helps. But not as much as the wicked cool SSD!

You can update the OS and download an updated skype. As I don't like this solution, I have installed the skype (Skype_7.36.0.507) in windows7 in a virtual machine. It's a bit annoying, but it works
