iTunes syncing - apply vs done

Not sure if this is the appropriate community but I can't seem to start my own post. The site isn't allowing me to.

In earlier versions of iTunes I could just sync my iPod and when it was finished click "Done". Now, with Version 12.6.1.25 it states every time after syncing "You have changed the settings for the iPod "..." Would you like to apply these changes?" I haven't made settings changes just added songs. Is it necessary to select "apply" or just select "Done"?

Hello socrmom.

If I'm understanding correctly, you have questions regarding the process of syncing with iTunes. I will be happy to help. Take a look at the steps below to see if it helps, from our article: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB

  1. After you turn on syncing for a content type, you'll see additional options to customize your sync settings. Use these options to make sure that you’re syncing the content that you want synced.
  2. Repeat steps 4–6 for each content type that you want to sync.
  3. Click the Apply button in the lower-right corner of the screen to save your sync settings. If syncing doesn't start automatically, click the Sync button.

Cheers.
