Is BlueStacks safe to download to OS X

Want to play Smartphone games on my os x desk top computer. Is it SAFE to download BlueStacks in order to do so or is there another, better way of playing these games on OS X? Am running Mavericks 10.9.4. Thank you in anticipation.

It appears to be safe and the reviews I found were positive. I couldn't find the system requirements, so I don't know if the current version will run in Mavericks.
