What is the difference between LTE and wifi?

Why am I getting LTE IN THE UPPER LEFT OF MY SCREEN instead of the wifi icon?

It looks like you are seeing the LTE icon instead of the Wi-Fi signal on your iPhone and want to know the difference between the two.


When you see the LTE icon, this indicates that your device is connecting to your iPhone cellular data provided by your network.
