Alarm off on phone only on on watch

Trying to figure out if I can have my alarm silent on my phone but my Apple Watch still vibrate when the alarm goes off.

Have a newborn and would love to not wake him when my alarm goes off.

Hi

Alarms that are set on your iPhone are not synced to your Apple Watch. However, depending on the status of your devices, alarm alerts from your iPhone can be pushed to your Apple Watch, which can be used to snooze or dismiss them. (The same also applies to any Timers that are set on your iPhone).

How notifications from your iPhone behave depends on the status of your devices and your settings. With Wrist Detection enabled, in order to bring notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

  • If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.
  • If your iPhone is locked or asleep and your watch is unlocked (regardless of whether the watch screen is asleep or awake) and on your wrist, you will receive notifications on your watch.
  • If your watch is locked or has Do Not Disturb enabled, notifications will go to your iPhone.

To achieve your desired result, you may prefer to follow these steps:

Set the alarm directly on your Apple Watch (this alarm app operates independently of your iPhone):

Enable Silent Mode on your Apple Watch:

  • When viewing the time on your Apple Watch, swipe up on the screen to open Control Centre and tap on the Silent Mode button to enable it:
  • This will deliver a haptic alert, but no sound.
  • However, note that, with Silent Mode enabled on your Apple Watch, sound alerts are still delivered on your watch if it is connected to power at the time (ie rather than being worn).
