When I plug headphone i have big latency with audio program like garageband. In cubasis.... if i plug CPU bar move up and when i unplugged re turn normal.
After about 3 minuts with headphone.... Garageband becomes unusable..... Plss help me 😕
Found a solution! I can confirm that upgrading to iOS 11 solves the issue. I was having the same issue and it was driving me crazy last night. Read through this whole thread then thought to download the beta of iOS 11. Boom, problem solved. Just go to beta.apple.com to sign up as a public beta tester and download the beta. At this point most of the bugs have been addressed as the release of the gold public version is coming very soon (in a week I believe).
If you’d prefer to wait for the official release of iOS11 I can confirm that it will work.

Have you tried opening Aum first before opening the apps you link to it - and comparing with the other way round?
Or do you use AB3?
Try plugging in the jack after opening Aum, then unplug, then reinsert.

I reported 2 times like iPad report bug and one time like ios11 tester but ..... Silence... Anybody knows an official and pubblic way to report this bug....
So at this moment I suggest don't buy iPad for semipro and pro audio production without a external sound card.
If you need portable set to use with headphone... Forget it don't work.
I bought iPad tree months later and I can't use it like tablet but only like desktop station .... So I think why I pad and no a cheaper Pc?

To bring you up to speed, this is an issue with both second generation iPad Pro, the 10.5 and the 12.9.
Many have reported it, both here and on the Audiobus forum, and to Apple Feedback, but some have claimed not to be affected.
In the last couple of days a possible explanation for this has emerged. Audio apps appear to have the latency issue IF they have been given microphone access (the microphone is ON). If microphone access has been denied (the microphone is OFF) then early reports indicate that the latency does not develop. This needs further testing.
There has been speculation that this might be the same as the widely reported crackling bug with the iPhone 8 but rumours are that this has been fixed in 11.1 on the iPhone 8 but WillOz says that it is not fixed on the iPad Pro II.
[Apple obviously listens to the complaints of iPhone 8 users but it appears that the musician community may be (relatively) too small to worry them at the moment.]

It's a core audio issue. Same issues plaguing MacBooks since Sierra came out. It's like an audio crash without bringing the system down or even closing the program being used.
@Nonsensev2 - So you already noticed a bit of lag on Pro1 and less on Air2?
Compared to iPad Pro 10.5(gen2) there is lesser lag on air 2 and even less/unnoticeable on ipad Pro 9.5(gen1) When using audio jack output. Hope this helps'
Have you tried unplugging/plugging in jack when you've got your setup ready to work?
Best to unplug/plug before an hour is up with the same setup, and everytime you change to another setup.
I'm 10.5" and simply unplugging/reinserting jack gets rid of latency - using AUM not Audiobus.
I tried that, but after about 3 minutes the latency starts again.
Frustrated dont know what to do.
Good thing I still have the ipad air 2, works with no problema
