MIDI keyboard via USB latency issue with new iPad Pro

Hi, I've not had a latency issue with GarageBand on iOS with my USB connected M-Audio 61es keystation before but since I upgraded to the new iPad Pro 10.5 I do. I am just running one stereo backing track in GB and playing along with a soft synth to rehearse my parts for my band's live shows while I'm travelling. Starts off ok but within a 20 bars or so it slips and the keyboard ends up with big latency. If I shut down GB and relaunch the latency goes until I play a long again for a while. I just swapped over and plugged in to my iPhone 6S running GB and loading the exact same song via iCloud to check if it's my keyboard and it is fine, runs beautifully, no latency. I'd suggest then that there's something going on with the new iPad's core audio and GB. I'm using the same connection - USB to lightening as supplied by Apple with both devices.

Any thoughts welcome but I guess this needs a fix.

Hi i've the same problem but only when I use audio out plugged with headphone. If I unplugged all return normal. Try and tell me if it is the same for you... Mhhhh huh I go crazy... I buy it only for music 😕

hi,

while using phones, i have the same issue in various synth apps - latency to the point i cannot play any more.

removing phones and plugging them back in after a short wait cures it immediately. usually, there will be no more increase in latency then. unless i open another audio app, then the game may start over again.
