Gaming on Macbook Pro 2016

I have macbook pro late 2016 with

  • 2.8GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
  • 256GB SSD storage
  • Radeon Pro 555 with 2GB memory

I am planning to install some games like Farcry 4 or Uncharted on the Boot Camp (using windows). But most of my friends suggest me not to play games on macbook pro because its not designed for the gaming. Is it really true that if i will do gaming on macbook, that can affect the machine's performance or any thing.

Thanks for time..

If you go via BootCamp, which runs Windows bare-metal on the Mac hardware, you will be getting performance equivalent of a very decent mid to high end Windows PC. Especially since your specs correspond to the top-end MBPs that have dual GPUs. Just remember to install the BootCamp extensions immediately after installing Windows: they provide the drivers so that OS can utilize the Mac's guts to the fullest. Indispensable if you have to use Windows 10, a persnickety beast that won't run anything not-Microsoft-approved.

You might want to invest in a fan-cooled laptop stand, to ensure the Mac doesn't get too hot. Gaming with the newest stuff is serious business, at least in what hardware usage and performance is concerned == running hot.
