Does Apple allow multiple Apple ID accounts for single user?

Sorry for asking this question here but it's something that i need someone to clarify.

Since yesterday I'm having issue with Apple ID. it's not about creating the ID, but it's about linking the ID to App Store. Actually i have multiple Apple IDs which are working. The reason is because i just love to create new ID for every new device that i owned.

I know the method of creating Free apple id by initiating free app download in the app store. But since yesterday it seems like I'm having trouble whenever i tried to REVIEW the newly made Apple ID. Apple keep on telling me to get assistance from apple support. But i just ignored them I mean why do i need to get support for something that i already knew how to do it since ages ago. It seems like apple has some sort of security policy preventing people from creating too many apple id with (of course) the same personal information. Anyone can clarify on that?

you can use family sharing between the appleID's iCloud - Family Sharing - Apple

and you can likely add the mail account from another appleID to your mailbox

but not sure why you would want separate appleID's for each device ?

using the same appleID will not mean they contain the same data and synced the same data

and features such as handoff and imessage and facetime sync and transparent use will not work if you use separate appleID's

I have 2 Microsoft accounts because back in the day I made one just for their messager and later needed one with an Hotmail account and I've been wishing I could merge them ever since.

yes. i could use this new apple ID to log in at appleid.com in a browser. but the problem is i could not use this ID to download any free app as for now because of the weird error asking me to contact iTunes Support whenever i tried to proceed with the "Reviewing" process. it just failed to complete the review process as if apple doesn't want me to have another new apple ID anymore.

i haven't tried the family sharing method because that's not really what i wanted to do. i wanted to create a new primary account (even though i have had multiple working Apple IDs before this-- that sounds weird right? ). but put that aside first. actually i just like to have a fresh start with new account whenever i got a new apple product. especially now since i've got my new iPad Pro 10.5 which i'm currently using =). and i'll use that new account for the rest of my apple products although that'll eventually leaving my previous iCloud account in the dust unattended.

You can have as many AppleIDs as you wish, or have emails to use to create them. An AppleID by itself is nothing more than an identifier, used to create accounts for Apple services. Every time you sign into iTunes, the App or Mac or iBook stores, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc with a new or different AppleID, you create a new account for that Service. But an AppleID by itself is not an account - it is an identifier and the account only becomes associated with it when you first sign in to that Apple Service with it.

Also, any Apple hosted email created with an Apple Service account (older @me.com or @mac.com, and nowadays @icloud.com) are themselves automatically registered as AppleIDs as well.

A lot of people do have multiple AppleIDs for perfectly rational reasons. Many long term developers have one just and specifically for their Apple paid developer Account. Some people like to have one with payment information tied to it for use in the App, iTunes, Mac and iBooks Stores, and another with no payment info tied to it for iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, these forums and such.

Each account created with each AppleID is a discrete account though, and cannot be merged or transferred to another. So, things you buy using one AppleID are forever tied to that account. You can always change the email used with an AppleID at the My AppleID web site - that merely changes the login identifier for the AppleID but ensures that all existing accounts and their account histories tied to that AppleID track right along with that email change.

I don’t understand the concept of a fresh account with each new device though? The whole point of an AppleID is to make sure your Apple services and purchase history goes along unbroken over time as you change devices. Using a new AppleID with every new device seems a bit like getting a new telephone number every time you ever bought a new cell phone or new home line handset - what’s the point?

thanks for the long explanation. now i truly understand the concept of AppleID and its service.

i know it sounds weird but that's just my OCD whenever i got a new Apple device😁 plus i don't really need to synchronize anything from my older device to the new one. so yeah it's always like getting a new telephone number for me =) i think you have answered my curiousity above all. so i guess this is end of this thread then. probably i'll just stick with my already working apple ID for this new iPad Pro since i've already got everything well setup from using it in App store and also the payment method. the rest of my IDs (which are not yet linked to the App Store) will just for experimentation because why not hahah. thanks mate for ur time 🙂
