Last night I had a drink get spilt on the back of the laptop, it immediately went black. I opened it up and there was only one drop of liquid in the back.
Now I only get the keyboard to come on. I have tried all things to get the screen to come back on to no avail!
I have tried the shift option comand power, option control p and r and nothing at all is working!
Has my laptop had it's final days? I hope not but I do not know where to go from here.
It sounds like it is only the backlight of your display that suffered damage. If you startup and you shine a flashlight on the screen can you see your Desktop or Login screen? If that's the case then the backlight needs replacement. Bring it into Apple for a free evaluation and estimate.

Not sure if this info helps or not but if I hook up to view on an extrenal source through the side thunderbolt port on the it works no problem, just the screen on the laptop is dead?
Yes when I shine a flashnight on the display I can see what is on the display.

Then it sounds like the rest of the Mac might be ok.
As you've discovered, the data path is still intact, and although it may only be a dead backlight, the fix is the same, to replace the display.
Any idea of what it will cost to get this fixed?

Answering your quesiton is, it will really depend on where you get it repaired, but if you are still under warranty it is going to be best to go to the apple store and get it fixed.
No idea what Apple would charge, but you can get some kind of idea what a display would cost and the labor to install it at ifixit.com
