Parallels or BootCamp on iPad Pro to run windows?

I am considering buying an iPad Pro to replace our decrepit iPad and soon to be obsolete PC. BUT I need to be able to run a specific accounting program which requires Windows. Can I use Parallels or BootCamp on an iPad Pro to run Windows, and thus my accounting program? (Please say yes!!!)

Not too sure why it's not available in a Mac version. I was a bit surprised to hear that. I called their tech department and asked them specifically but it's only supported in Windows. They were the ones who pointed me towards the parallels or BootCamp idea, but they don't offer tech support on any of that And weren't sure if it would work in an iPad Pro.

So does this mean I actually still need my PC running here at home? As parallels/BootCamp would simply access that existing operating system and programs remotely? I was hoping to do away with the PC and I have shifty internet access here as it is.

Hi LauraWG. As you already know, Parallels Access lets you access your computer's desktop remotely from the iPad. It does not let you install Windows on the iPad and run Windows programs. You may want to consider replacing your old PC with a new economy model, just to support this program. By the way, a Mac version of the program wouldn't bring you any closer to installing it on the iPad, because Macs and iPads are completely different systems.

There is no supported way to install and run an alternate operating system on any iOS device. If you were using anything on a Mac or PC then all you need is a Remote Desktop client to access those. MS offers their own Remote Desktop app for free and there are many others.

But to actually run Windows code or programs you‘re still going to need a Windows PC or a Mac with a Windows virtual machine.
