Mother lost her iphone. It was in Airplane Mode and could be in airplane or at home based on on our last communication.
I tried to place it on Lost with phone # to call - will this happen if someone turns it on?
For clarification....if a phone is lost and is in airplane mode and is found. Will the phone display any texts from the owner like ‘hey call me u found my phone’ ? And or the finder gets within a WiFi signal with the phone he/she found will it display a text from the owner? Also....
If this phone in airplane mode gets within a WiFi signal will find my phone show its location? If no to these options why would the phone manufactures not design the phone to be found in airplane mode and or if the phone doesn’t have data or WiFi? And or design the phone to send a gps location before the battery dies?
The phone would need to be turned on and also online first (wi-fi or cellular access).

Unless the device is connected to the Internet, Lost mode will not be initiated. The device will have to be taken out of Airplane mode before Lost mode would be activated, and a message displayed on the screen.
As soon as the iPhone goes online, lost mode will kick in.
No. For Find My Phone to work the device must be online so that it can reply with its location. In Airplane Mode, there is no way for it to do that.
If in Airplane Mode can I Use the Lost Phone portion of the find my phone app?
