If you need a new iPod Touch, it could be a long wait for a 7th gen model.

It took Apple 4 years to offer the 6th gen iPod Touch.

We're just now half way through that timeframe, now.

If you need a new iPod Touch, the 6th gen is really nice and is really the first iPod Touch that more closely meets the specs of an iPhone 6 without the phone part!

I have a 64 GBs space gray iPod Touch 6th gen that still runs well and still looks great!

It's a night and day difference in specs from the 5th gen iPod Touch.

Model # indicates it should not have any regional limitations for Facetime.

Which means its even stranger why it does not have it.

As suggested it may be restricted in settings, otherwise, and if you have not tried to do so yet, maybe restoring the iPod to Factory condition may fix the issue.

Your iPod Touch 5th gen should already have Face time on it, unless you lived in another country previously where FaceTime has been banned on any iDevice by the particular country you may have came from and purchased from.

If you purchased your iPod Touch 5th gen here in the U.S., then do a search of your iPod Touch by typing FaceTime into the search this device field OR, if your iPod Touch 5 has Siri voice activation, ask Siri to launch FaceTime, if it is on your iPod Touch 5.

Good Luck toYou!

Well, somehow, FaceTime is not on my iPod, at all. I am a US citizen and purchased this iPod from the refurbished section of the Apple Store. I don't know how, but FaceTime is gone. So... how can I get it back? It's not at the App Store and not with the Apple Apps, which is ridiculous. How can every App be available except FaceTime?

I'm looking at the copyright date for FaceTime.

It maybe possible that this version of FaceTime might be incompatible with your iOS 9.3.5 version.

This is THE same thing Apple did with Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

If you lost the Facetime app, Apple won't let users download the older, compatible versions of their iOS Apps any longer.

Maybe take your iPod Touch 5 to an Apple Store and see if they can put the older, compatible FaceTime version onto your older iPod Touch.

This is the only thing I can think of to recommend at this late stage.

They may or may not be able to do this.

Backup your iPod Touch, before bringing to an Apple Store.

Thanks. I thought it might be something like that. It's strange that Apple will let you download older versions of MacOS (OS X) but they won't let legacy devices such as mine (I hate that I am now obsolete) get the little support we might need. But I guess it's just their effort to get people to buy the latest and greatest even though older devices are still fully functional and in use. I am glad that in general Apple products are so well built that they last a long time. I still own a "lampshade" iMac which I'm sure would boot right up if I needed it. I've been waiting for the next gen iPod if Apple should keep the line alive. Again, Thanks to all!

GENIUS!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!! I can't believe the solution was so simple. Now, when I think about it, I had the same issue with Camera on my iPod Touch gen4. Somehow its toggle switch was turned off, too! Well, to everyone reading this thread, I now remember that native apps (although not true anymore, I think) cannot be deleted and must be there somewhere. What's strange is that both Search and Siri said that FaceTime was not present when in fact it was just restricted. Apple should do something about that. Well, this is my last entry on this thread as now, thanks to stevejobsfan0123, my problem is SOLVED. A million kudos to you (and everyone) and once again, THANKS!
