iTunes store prompts for previous id

Hi guys

I was forced to change the apple id (email address associated) recently once after I couldn't recover the gmail address. I made a full backup using iTunes, upgraded the device (iPhone 6s) to latest IOS & restored the backup to the device.

My iCloud account shows the new id and all sync are working perfectly, but itunes store. I keep on getting a prompt asking me to log on to the previous id, iTunes & App Stores settings also shows the current apple id. The only one thing I find strange until this moment is, there are few apps those are showing "Waiting", which I suspect were downloaded using the previous id. Should this is be the reason for the store keeping on asking me to log on to the previous id?

Please help!

Thanks for your replies! I got it done finally, the issues were from the restore process that has restored few the apps installed using old apple id. I deleted all the apps with status "Waiting" and store stopped asking for the password. Hope this helps few others out there.

Did you update the primary email address on your existing iTunes account, or did you create a new iTunes account ? The popups imply that you created a new account, and that those apps are tied to the old account. Are you able to log into the account via the old email address ?

You've logged into the account on your computer's iTunes, do the apps that are waiting show on its purchase history ?

And have you tried logging into iTunes using the old email address and its password ?

Well, I started using iTunes once after I forgot the apple id password! I installed iTunes, made a backup & contacted apple to recover the id. So, unfortunately I never used the old apple id with iTunes.

If you never used it when it had that primary email address there shouldn't be any purchases linked to that version of the id, and you shouldn't be being prompted to enter its password. What happens when you enter the id's password ? Or have you tried doing a soft-reset/reboot of the phone and seeing if those waiting apps then download ?

I don't have access to the previous gmail that was used for apple id.
