I have a Mac Pro early 2008, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad. what is the latest OS I can use and how do I get it? I am currently on 10.9.5. Any help appreciated. Tony.

Unfortunately, sometimes they are accurate. This can be caused by a diabolical combining of your requested download with someone who may have a much slower link speed. The download forwarder is sending packet to both you and the other guy(s) at a very slow rate.


The work around is to pause the download for a few minutes. When you resume, you hope to get either your own continued download at a faster rate, or getting paired with other users who have faster speeds.


Broadband Internet can deliver a complete Mac OS download in under an hour.

I've spent too much time watching progress bars to be fooled by them. They are pants-on-fire liars! I'd venture to say that over 90% of the time you can disregard them. They'll jump from 1 day to 20 minutes in an eye blink. We'll see when the OP comes back and reports the time it took.

The fact that he hasn't been back yet bodes badly for my argument. 😁
