ipv6 native connectivity-Airport Time Capsule

I have an Airport Time Capsule 802.11ac 2TB (Firmware version: 7.7.8).

The Telecommunications company provides native IPv6 service.

I went to Airport Utility to set IPv6 to automatic and is set to Tunnel instead of Native, and is greyed out.

When I saved, after a while, the Airport Utility reported "IPv6 Relay Error"

How I would set a native IPv6 connectivity when routing over PPPoE?

Although the Time Capsule is still listed as a current model, it was originally introduced 4 years ago. Apple has not changed the Time Capsule hardware since it was introduced. Given the fact that it takes at least a year or more in product development to bring a new product to market, the IPv6 settings on the AirPort Time Capsule represent IPv6 technology that is probably about 5 years old.

In that regard, the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme have very limited IPv6 functionality. That being the case, the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme may not be able to deliver an IPv6 connection with newer implementations that some ISPs have added to their service, especially with a PPPoE type connection.

I don't have a PPPoE connection here to test, but if the default IPv6 settings will not work for you, you may likely need to have your modem establish the PPPoE connection with your Internet Service Provider......not the Time Capsule.

The evolution of IPv4 to IPv6 is many years old, and its configuration involves both the ISP and the user, so the setting for a PPPoE connection has to be done at the home router besides the ISP.

Just now, there is a new firmware update version 7.7.9. It's the opportunity to update the IPv6 connectivity lack that Time Capsule has, but it's only a security patch :-(

Nowadays every home router/access point has a native IPv6 connectivity when routing over PPPoE.

Time capsule was competing with success, but if it only uses a tunnel for a IPv6 connection, soon will be out of the market. The natural evolution to native IPv6 all around the world is a necessity and Time Capsule, -as a value product- would be updated.
