Can't access SeaGate hard drive on MacBook Pro?

I have recently updated my MacBook Pro to the most recent update - macOS Sierra version 10.12.5. Ever since I updated my computer, I haven't been able to view the files on my hard drive. When I go into Disk utility, It comes up in the sidebar but it is in light gray as though it is un accessible.

I have tried ejecting and plugging it back in plenty of times, I have also tried a different cord. I have restarted my computer as well as shutting it down and turning it back on 30 minutes later.

In Disk utility on my MacBook, I have also tried mounting my hard drive but it doesn't do anything. I have also tried first aid on my hard drive and it says there are no problems.

My hard drive works perfectly fine on my friends MacBook air that is on the same new update.

If anyone could help me access my hard drive, your help would be appreciated. 🙂

Do other external drives or devices work trough the same ports?

reset the smc, you can do this two or three times

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

if that fails shut down, disconnect all external devices and boot into safe mode

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

the reboot normally

then connect your drive

if problems persist you may post an EtreCheck report for futher analyis. The link is www.etrecheck.com

you may also want to check your hardware

Seagate sometimes will warranty a drive for two years depending on the model, you can speak with them to see what your other options may be if all else fails.
