Female to female usb adapter query.

Hi, I have an iPad3 running OS 9.3.5 and would like to transfer photographs via either my camera or my usb sd card reader. I was just wondering if anyone has tried/had any success by buying a female to female usb adapter and then using the iPad charging cable to connect the adapter to the ipad and then using the resulting female usb socket as a normal usb connection. I'm not sure of the internal connections of the adapter so although it will appear to be a straightforward way to get a female usb socket it may not actually function correctly. Anyone tried this?

Thanks very much.

Dave.

The iPad 3 has a lightning cord that plugs into the iPad with the lightning connector, and the other end is a universal USB connector.

If you have a device (camera, SD card reader) that takes a USB connection, all you have to do is plug the charging cord into the iPad and the other end into the device. Takes the adaptor out of the mix.

*** It just occurred to me: on your charging cord, does one end plug into the wall? If so, just unplug the white lightning cord from the wall socket part (the duckhead) and you'll have a USB end on the cord. (Make sure the duckkhead is not left plugged into the wall socket!) ***
