How to set up Boot Camp on a Mac with an HFS and APFS partitions?

Hi folks,

I'm trying to set up a Boot Camp partition on a MacBook Pro that has:

* A standard 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)' volume called 'Macintosh HD', with macOS Sierra installed.

* An APFS volume called 'macOS test', with macOS High Sierra installed.

As the screenshot shows, it's using a GUID Partition Map:

When I run the Boot Camp Assistant, it appears that I can choose to erase the 'macOS test' partition and set up Boot Camp on it, but can't set up a new partition from 'Macintosh HD': "This disk is our macOS startup disk and appears to have been partitioned by another utility".

I've tried using Disk Utility to create an additional partition for Boot Camp, but Boot Camp Assistant lumps them together:

Does anybody have any idea how I can go about setting up a Boot Camp partition on this Mac, alongside my existing HFS Sierra and APFS High Sierra partitions?

Uninstall HS and remove the APFS partition. Install Windows on the Sierra standard configuration. Once completed, use an external disk to use HS and APFS. Do not mix the HS and Sierra.

Also, HS is not Generally Available and is not supported by ASC. You may be asked not to post about HS on ASC. You can do so only on the Apple Developer forum only.
