Hotmail junk email on iPhone

You're not dumb, if anyone is, it's Hotmail (not a fan).

If you go into the iOS Mail app, you'll see your Hotmail account under "Mailboxes", if you scroll down you should see it again. (See picture). The second version of it is the actual layout/organization from Hotmail direct whereas the first list you see is the Mail app trying to sort.

If you were using an iCloud email instead of hotmail it would quickly learn that the emails coming from that sender are junk. However the hotmail account doesn't seem so quick to react. I would suggest contacting hotmail support for additional help.

Hotmail is not supported directly through Apple; as with most mail clients, iOS Mail only houses the messages that come from your email provider (Hotmail/Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail, etc).

You more than likely won't see that changing - Hotmail uses their own system to define "junk" and afterwards it's sent to your phone to be displayed.

Perhaps, using an iCloud.com, a me.com, or mac.com email, Apple may change their "junk" filter, but again that would be at their system level and not on your phone as it's only your phone's job to display.
