Hotmail junk email on iPhone

I am getting a lot of junk email on my Hotmail account on my iPhone. I do not open and put in junk folder, but will get another email from same sender. Is there any way to increase junk mail filters on iPhonE and why can't it "learn" that some mail is junk?

You're not dumb, if anyone is, it's Hotmail (not a fan).

If you go into the iOS Mail app, you'll see your Hotmail account under "Mailboxes", if you scroll down you should see it again. (See picture). The second version of it is the actual layout/organization from Hotmail direct whereas the first list you see is the Mail app trying to sort.

You should find a junk mail folder in here:

Hotmail is not supported directly through Apple; as with most mail clients, iOS Mail only houses the messages that come from your email provider (Hotmail/Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail, etc).

You more than likely won't see that changing - Hotmail uses their own system to define "junk" and afterwards it's sent to your phone to be displayed.

Perhaps, using an iCloud.com, a me.com, or mac.com email, Apple may change their "junk" filter, but again that would be at their system level and not on your phone as it's only your phone's job to display.
