How to grant permission to download apps from Android?

Until recently, my whole family had apple devices. My kids have ipads, and I had an iphone. I had set up family sharing so that when they went to download an app, it would "ask" on my device if it was OK for them to download it, and I could grant or deny permission from my device, anywhere. This was more convenient than them constantly running to me with their tablets for me to grant access.

Recently my iphone died, and I bought an Android because they are so much cheaper and just as good for what I use a phone for.

Is there a way to continue the icloud functionality of granting permission to the children to download apps, from my Android device?

Thanks,

iPad Mini Wi-Fi, iOS 10.3.2

Hi, maillemaker,

Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you are inquiring as to whether it's possible to continue the Ask To Buy functionality while using an Android device. I'm happy to provide you with some information.

The Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy article has this to say about Ask To Buy requests:

With Ask to Buy and Family Sharing, whenever a family member initiates a new purchase or free download, a request goes to the organizer. The organizer can review the item and make the purchase or decline the request right from their own iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 and later or Mac with OS X Yosemite and later.

Cheers.
