How do I go about mirroring to hd tv

Shop on Amazon, Newegg or any tech shopping site for a wireless HDMI setup. IOGear and others make systems for under $200 that include a HDMI transmitter and a wireless HDMI receiver that connects to an HDMI port on your TV.

Anything, - laptop, computer, tablet, iPad, iPhone, etc - that has the ability to output the display to HDMI can broadcast its display to the TV. For an iPad or iPhone you will need the Apple lightening-to-HDMI adapter to plug in the HDMI transmitter (and actually Belkin, Insignia and others make Apple certified adapters as well)

I use one of IOGear's such systems with my iPad and iPhone at home all the time, with both a 1080p LED/LCD HD TV and a 4K LG TV. it also works with my MacBook Pro, my Lenovo Win 10 laptop, other folk's MS Surface Pros and Android phones and tablets. Anything that can output its display to HDMI can be broadcast that display to the receiver.

You also don't need any apps for iOS as all these systems do is broadcast whatever the iPhone or iPad is actively displaying to the TV, so they will broadcast any app on your device if that app is the active, in use display on the iPad or iPhone.

I've found the easiest is to use the lightning > HDMI adapter > HDMI cable to TV. Switch your TV reception to the appropriate HDMI input port and you will see your iPad's home screen on your TV. If you want certain TV or movie channels, some have apps (I use a lot of European TV channels' apps which broadcast most content for free) which you can open and choose what you want to watch.
