Battery not charging after water damage, Macbook Air Early 2015 11-inch

So a couple of months back I spilt a substantial amount of water onto my open macbook air (A1465 (EMC 2924))(most of which went onto the left front corner of the keyboard). It immediately shut down and then started up again as I moved it( and then shut it down manually), flipped it upside down and tried to dry it as much as possible. I left it over a fan, keyboard face down, for a couple hours and put it into an airing cupboard to try and remove as much moisture as possible. The next morning I booted it and it worked fine but when I went to charge it the mag safe light didnt come on and the mac said 'battery not charging, power source: power adapter'. So at this point I plugged my macbook in and left it plugged as much as possible. At some point, I'm not sure when, my battery managed to charge back up to 100% but I still had the issue of 'battery not charging' and no mag safe light. Since then, I accidentally left the macbook on and not plugged in for about 2-3 hours at which the battery level fell to about 40% which had been slowly decreasing since then despite it always being plugged in. It has lasted up until recently when the battery finally ran out and now when I open the lid it shows the empty battery icon with a lightning bolt underneath.

I did take it to stormfront where they ran diagnostics which gave no answers, and tried different cables which didn't work. They sent the laptop off for me where they said I would have to replace the logic board, the battery, the battery connectors, as well as part of the housing which seemed like a complete con to me since the laptop itself works, but just doesn't charge.

My question is, is there a way to be able to use my macbook at this point without having to send it off anywhere?

A fix is obviously my end goal but if it entails a large cost (above £300) then it's not likely i will do it.
