I've noticed my 2017 iMac doesn't have a line-in for audio. I've read I can use the headset jack as a line-in for the audio by changing the settings on the sound input, but the only option available is the built in microphone. There is no option to change input to line-in. What is the solution, as I am trying to record.

I looked at the link and it followed directions and it came out to the same thing. The only option for sound input is the built-in microphone. There is no option to record from a device such as a mixer, into the computer using a line-in.

What program are you going to use? Have you started that program?
I've tried the program that the computer came with, GarageBand, and Audacity as well. Even in their menus, the line-in option is not available. Thanks for responding by the way.
