Scanning to my iMac (late 2012) from Canon

Help, my printer will no longer scan to my iMac? I can print from my mac to my printer, no problem. I run my iMac on OS X Yosemite. I have a crappy little Canon MG5420. I have reset the wifi, switched it on and off numerous times. I can see the printer on System Preferences > Printers and Scanners > Device Name Canon MG5400 series Driver version 2 but every time I press 'scan' from the printer, it tells me to Set the PC to start scanning.

Any tips?

Open Image Capture in your Applications folder and try it.

and/or > How to scan using Image Capture

FWIW I have always preferred and used Image Capture instead of Epson's or Canon's software for scanning.

Hi, I received a link which spoke to how to connect a printer through USB port. I want to connect it though Wifi, Can anybody help. I've just deleted the printer and added it again. Still no luck
