USB-C to Mini Display Port on Eizo

I recently upgraded my MBP 2013 to MBP 2016. My old MBP ran my Eizo CX271 ColorEdge monitor just fine using their display to Mini Display Port Thunderbolt 2 cable. I can't get the monitor to get a signal from the new MBP, using the same cable with a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter no matter what I try it won't work. Any advice or guidance from Apple on this issue? I could also use a HDMI cable to an HDMI-Thunderbolt 3 adaptor if I thought it would work.

It won't work with the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter: About Thunderbolt ports and displays - Apple Support

"Note that although it uses a Mini DisplayPort connector, the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter doesn't support connections to Mini DisplayPort displays."

It will work with this adapter, in combination with a hdmi cable:

Hi,

Did you get your ColorEdge to work? I am struggling to get mine to work a CS2730 model. The AV adaptor from apple is worhless for displays it works for TVs only. I tried a Displayport to usb-C cable and an adaptor but it won't work with the ColorEdge display. It works with other displays both from eizo and other brands but not for the Color Edge, the picture is not extending to the edge of the monitor but is inside a square in center of the display like it is a 24in monitor while the monitor is 27in, and is recognised as such by the OS.

You can find more information on how to connect the Eizo displays on the Eizo website: http://www.eizoglobal.com/support/compatibility/eizo_4k_monitor_compatibility_wi th_graphics_boards/index.html

But I also have an issue. With macOS Sierra, an iMac 5K 2017 and the Eizo CG276 I dont get the native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixel. Even if I set the "use native resolution" in the System Preferences > Monitors. The Eizo runs with only with 1920 x 1080 pixel.

Does someone have an idea?

What I found out to solve my problem is:

Resetting the NVRAM without the external display being connected to the computer. After the computer booted I restarted it once more and then plugged the cable of the external monitor. Resetting the NVRAM with the monitor attached did nothing.

Good luck,
