Expanding battery?

So, I have an iPhone 5c. I bought it from eBay in November 2016. After a while I noticed a buldge in the casing. It's hard to explain but when I press down on the bottom right hand corner of where the issue is. It makes a clicking noise. I was ready about expanding battery and seems scary to me haha! I didn't think much of it for a while. It's no where near the battery so I'm guessing it's just maybe when I dropped it? I have only dropped it on an actually hard surface about twice. I thought maybe I just dropped on the corner and those happened. Some clues to what it might be please let me know!

There is no way for anyone to diagnose this sort of issue from an internet forum post. You need to take it in to Apple for a free hardware evaluation. Given the age of that phone, yes, it very well could be a worn out and now swelling battery, which is a potentially hazardous situation.
