iMac 4k late 2015 external mic input

Hello, I am trying to record videos with Quicktime (record screen/desktop) and all is recording fine Audio and Video.

However, I would like to connect an external mic to it for better sound quality. I do not seem to find the mic in at the back of the iMac. there is only an input for headphones but not mic!!!

How do i connect an external microphone to my iMac??

Thanks!!

iMac, iOS 9.1, 4k

I recently read that if you have just the one audio port you can use it for either input or output.

When you say "recording fine Audio and Video" I'm questioning your definition of fine.

I just got through making a "Screen recording" utilizing QuickTime Player, Version 10.4 (855) w/ the audio option set to internal/built-in microphone. As I made the recording and when I spoke there was a distinct echo. It was still there when I played the recording.
