If I send it to my me.com address, I get a proper Tap to Download graphic

but tapping on it generates a Cannot Download Attachment pop up

I talked with AppleCare support but he was clueless.

He said my OS-X system and email program (Entourage) were too old to work.

I contend there is a bug or conflict with iOS that needs fixed.

That emailing a proper JPEG should just work in Apple's Mail.app.

I just packaged and saved the .jpg documents in Photoshop (these were shot in .NEF, RAW, 16-bit and saved out as 8-bit sRGB). Nothing wrong with the images, I've done this 10,000 plus times in the past.

The attachments come back through fine in all emails I tested in Entourage.

Thanks.

It looks like that option was deleted or moved in iOS 10.3.2

from Settings> Mail (see screenshot)

and a search on google isn't finding it for me

can you confirm you are running iOS 10.3.2, what hardware and navigate me to where you are seeing the option for 'load remote images'?

Not sure what you are asking here. However, there is obviously something wrong with mail but my guess is something hinky on the server. I know that's not very technical but I believe that the problem is with your email account and not the devices. I could every well be wrong. It will not be the first or the last time.

I am running iOS 10.3.2 on my iPhone 5s and Load Remote Images is in Settings>Mail.

okay, LOAD REMOTE IMAGES is greened (switched on) on my iPad mini 4 and iPhone 5c, iOS 10.3.2

still have the white empty box and "Cannot Download Attachment" pop up error

Mail.app is still broken...

that's a search string, maybe the next person who searches it will hit and move forward quicker

I believe that the problem is with your email account and not the devices

my gut instinct is the problem is in the iOS and/or Apple Mail.app -- because nothing else has changed on my side

10.6 and Entourage 2008 has been working for me with iOS for years in this capacity

Mail.app should not be choking on a standard low-rez .jpg attachment...
