Unable to determine location

Today I noticed Location Services stopped working on my Mac Pro. I go to the Maps app, Google maps in Safari, time zone in settings, etc. and all report that location cannot be determined.

I fully understand that Location Services uses my Wifi router as one factor to determine my location. I have two different Wifi routers and can use an iPhone as a hotspot, and even after trying all three, there is still no location determination.

However, my iPhone can connect to the same Wifi and Location Services is working just fine there.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Sorry, poor wording on my part.

Have you actually tried getting a newer router from your ISP?

On what basis do I ask AT&T to replace a working device? If the AT&T router I had for the last six months was working with Location Services until last week, how will replacing it solve anything?

The other two NetGear routers on site have been in place for years.

Sorry, you keep changing the info you are providing. First you said you had two WiFi routers which had been working for 4 years. As it turns out now you have three, the third of which was working for six months. It's too difficult for me to have to keep asking questions and getting responses like "of course I did" and "it's the first thing I did" etc.

Hopefully someone else may have an idea.

Good Luck.

I never mentioned the six-month old AT&T router because I never connect to its Wifi, my two NetGear routers are hard wired to it, and it's too new to have much of anything to do with the last 4 years. I only mention it now because you suggested I contact my ISP to replace it.

Sorry it got too confusing for you, but I was trying to keep this thread as concise as possible.

No problem. I suppose if it were me I would try the newer AT&T router alone. Personally I only have one so I don't know what running three routers might do.

It's perfectly fine as long as everything is setup correctly. The two NetGear routers are on their own dedicated subnet covering two buildings with static IP's set on many of the devices. When the new AT&T router (gateway) replaced an old AT&T modem (no Wifi), I never felt the need to get rid of my NetGear setup and reconfigure everything else.

And yes, that too was tried last week. I connected to the AT&T Wifi and it made no difference.
