Wi fi No IP address. Keeps dropping connection

MacBook Air, 13 inch Mid 2012 running Sierra 10.12.6

My MacBook Air is suddenly constantly dropping the Wi-Fi connection. As it searches for the Wi-Fi, get an error that says "No IP address."

No Wi-Fi problems with a Dell, two iPads, two iPhones. Nothing has changed in the environment, except I think we did a regular, recommended update recently.

Got a new Router 2 months ago, but the problem did not start until 2 weeks ago.

Have confirmed that not a crowded channel, zapped PRAM, updated DCHP lease etc. Restarted Router.

I am not network savvy so some of the discussions go over my head.

This problem has essentially bricked my Mackbook and made it useless.

Help!

I'm embarrassed to say...that a router reboot fixed the problem. I figured I'd try again going through what I knew to do. And, sure enough, the MacBook Air is now connecting like a champ.

Thanks Kappy for your help. Sorry to bog down the forums with such an obviously easy fix. I SWEAR I tried it once before. Have no idea why it worked this time.
