My 160 gb classic iPod suddenly stopped playing. Fiddled and got it going again but without album artwork showing. Later stopped again. Plugged in to i-tunes which said it may be corrupted. Tried to restore but get error code 1430. Checked stats - retracts 5, reallocs 2, pending sectors 2. Checked for updates to software and running i-tunes 12.6.2. Put into disc mode, connected to i-tunes again but still get error code 1430. Help!!!!

See Corrupt iPod Classic. Try the alternate restore methods. You need to clear those pending sectors.

Hi,
I was unable to fix in disk utility as it didn't give me the option to repair??? Tried a DFU but no joy. As a last resort plugged pod into my windows netbook after downloading latest version of i-tunes and bingo. All seems to be working OK now.

Have already tried all that. I-tunes just keeps asking me to restore the pod. Message on iPod screen just says do not disconnect.
